Feedback from Pre-Production Portfolio

"The pre-production portfolio demonstrates exploration of character through costume, visual style and body expression. The work within the portfolio is somewhat limited and could benefit from iteration to enhance line quality, colour and tone, pose and proportion. These areas for development are identified within your portfolio document which reflects upon the semester and the works, making some recommendations to move the project forward. At present, it is not clear from this portfolio, what the project is hoping to explore or the specific concept which might be developed in semester two. It may be beneficial moving forward to select an existing narrative concept within which you can explore character design in a more focused, iterative manner. Defining design constraints for yourself such as keeping your character in keeping with an existing idea, may help you to design appropriate artistic projects for yourself and may enhance the quality of work within your portfolio. It will also be beneficial to undertake further life drawing and studies of colour and light from life to inform your artwork moving forward."
