Below is a refined portrait of the character. I am really happy with this. I wanted the mask to resemble the Nio statues, and it does, I also wanted it to look a bit like stone so I took inspiration, in terms of colour, from the statues too.
Final character concept altogether:
Generally I am happy with this character. If I had more time I would experiment with different colours for the clothing and belt. I would also experiment with different size beads and different shades for the mask, trying out darker colours and so on. But overall, rather happy with this one, as I achieved what I wanted to with him. However, he does come off as quite evil, looking a lot like Akuma and similar characters, especially with the mask. I feel that if I used the other mask idea, with the closed mouth, he would look less evil. But, again, I achieved what I wanted.
